  • As an illustrator and community artist, Yuko uses art and storytelling-based ways to foster placemaking/keeping in Salem’s El Punto neighborhood in collaboration with Punto Urban Art Museum (PUAM) and Community Engagement teams. Through a two-year artist fellowship with North Shore CDC and Enterprise Community Partners-a nationally recognized organization that aims to address layers of impact in local affordable housing and community development-she will further enrich her focus and research into the in-between areas of art and place. She received a BFA with Honors in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design.
