  • Jessica Johnston is an Education Programs Coordinator at the Ecological Society of America (ESA) where she works on several projects that aim to enrich science education including the Scientists in Parks Fellows Program. Prior to joining ESA, she received a M.S. in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University while also gaining experience conducting herpetological surveys, banding nestling birds, and managing an insect ecology lab. As a nontraditional student and a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Jessica is passionate about advocating safe spaces for diverse students and overcoming systemic barriers to entry within science education.
