Doug Hale found his passion for public service by growing up as the child of Air Force officers; traveling, volunteering, and exploring many different communities and locations. He continued his parents’ path of service by participating in AmeriCorps both before and after college. Later, he started working in volunteer and employee recruitment, hiring, and onboarding with NGOs and in the private healthcare industry. This led him to assume a team lead role with the Corporation for National and Community Service, in which he oversaw the application and onboarding process for AmeriCorps service members. After receiving his Master’s degree from American University’s School of International Service, he transitioned into federal HR at the Peace Corps, before coming to work at the National Park Service. Doug strongly believes in the missions of the agencies in which he serves, and strives to help achieve agency goals by recruiting and retaining diverse, high-quality candidates who value public service and who strive to make positive change wherever they find themselves.
